Mitigation or Adaptation…Why not both?

Over the last decade or so, the Government of Grenada and numerous non-governmental organizations have undertaken many actions to address climate change in our small island state. These have included both mitigation - like promoting renewable energy technologies - and adaptation - like improving climate resilience in our water sector. Below is a non-exhaustive list of projects and initiatives in Grenada to inform and inspire you to get involved.

Nationally Determined Contribution

This key document outlines Grenada’s commitments and specific actions to comply with the Paris Agreement.
National Climate Change Policy

This policy (2017 - 2021) outlines Grenada’s key actions and priorities at the time for addressing climate change. As of 2025, it needs updating.
National Energy Policy

This policy outlines Grenada’s path to clean, renewable energy as an anchor for the energy development agenda.
National Cooling Action Plan

This plan details Grenada’s plans to reduce ozone-depleting substances, as a contribution to the NDC process.
